GENERAL POLICY

The Solis Institute of Technology of Bulan, Sorsogon welcomes students with complete and valid credentials. However, each department reserves the right not to admit any applicant or readmit former students whose qualifications do not meet its standards.

CONDUCT

A student or applicant whose private or public behavior is manifestly at odds with the objectives and standards established by the school may be denied admittance or readmittance.

ACADEMIC DELINQUENCY

Any students with two or more failures, or who have been refused admission to other schools for disciplinary reasons, and/or poor academic performance shall not, as a general rule, be admitted.

CREDENTIALS FOR ADMISSION

Every student seeking admission for the first time must submit the following:

  • Form 138 for fourth-year high school graduates, duly certified by the principal
  • A certificate of conduct and good moral character from the principal of the school where he/she graduated
  • Marriage contract for the married female enrollees.

Transfer students are those who wish to enroll at Solis Institute of Technology after having taken course/s from another school. Former college students of the College returning to Solis Institute of Technology after having enrolled in other institutions are also considered transfer students.

At the time of enrollment, a transferee must submit the following credentials:

  • A certificate of transfer credential from the school last attended
  • A statement of good moral character signed by the Head or the coordinator of student affairs of the school last attended
  • An informative copy of the transcript of records should include the descriptive title of the subjects taken, the grades, and the number of units earned.

Continuing students or Old Students are those previously enrolled in the college either in the immediately preceding semester or after having stopped but did not enroll elsewhere.

Rating cards issued by the Registrar’s Office of the semester, summer immediately preceding the enrollment, or last term attended must be presented together with the registration forms.

Students with two or more failing marks in a semester will not be allowed to re-enroll except for valid reasons as recommended by the respective Dean and approved by the President.

CROSS ENROLLEES

These are students temporarily allowed by other institutions to take subjects at SOLIS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. A permit from his school allowing him to attend classes at Solis Institute of Technology, stating therein the subjects to be taken in order to be cross-enrollee based on existing policies and requirements. This permit is valid for a particular semester or summer term as the case may be.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

  • Every student seeking admission shall register during the prescribed enrollment period.
  • No enrollment will be allowed without the necessary credentials.
  • Enrollment shall be done in person; hence by proxy is discouraged.
  • Registration materials are available at the Registrar’s Office and/or officially designated places considered as extension offices.
  • Students who wish to enroll in Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education are required to take the aptitude test or entrance exam.
  • Students who will be enrolling in the College of Education should have a general average of 80% and above.
  • Changing subjects-during the enrollment period, a student may change subjects or courses but the approval of the Dean is necessary. These changes and adjustments are to be done only during the official enrollment period.
  • A student who drops any subject before the mid-term exam will be marked “dropped”.
  • A student, who may force reasonable cause to discontinue after the mid-term, should seek the approval of the Dean and the Registrar. Failure to obtain this approval before the discontinuance of the course shall result in a grade of “5.0”.
  • Students are not officially dropped unless a copy of the accomplished drop slip is submitted to the Registrar’s Office.
  • Certificate of Transfer Credentials – a student presently enrolled who desires to transfer to another school should apply for a certificate of transfer credentials only after the end of the semester/summer. Such a certificate will be issued only after the applicant has surrendered his ID card and has been cleared of all financial and property and other liabilities.
  • The official transcript of records will be mailed by Solis Institute of Technology to the school chosen by the transferring student upon receipt of the return slip of the Certificate of Transfer Credentials. Any person can also get the said credentials upon presenting an authorization letter from the person enrolled and must present a valid ID.
  • Registrar may issue statements of good moral character and standing to the student.
